  • The JV football team moved to a perfect 4-0 record with a 42-28 victory over the Raiders of Quincy Notre Dame. The Senators gave up a touchdown on the first drive of the game, but responded right back with a Tyree Sullivan dump down pass from Andrew Benning for a 65 yard TD. QND responded with a second score and then Benning found Jamel Battie on a deep pass to get the score to 16-14 QND going in to half. Coming out of half, Tyree Sullivan took the opening kick back for a TD and the Senators never gave the lead back. On the way to the victory Jacob Neff snagged an interception. Jacob Greco snatched another one. Carter Kim forced a fumble that Kevin Noga scooped up. The offense put in three more scores with a short pass to DeAnthony Brown that he then made approximately 35 people miss on the way to a long TD run after catch. Jacob Scheffler broke free deep down the sideline for a long pass from Benning to nearly put the game away. And finally Richawn Crawford bust a 70 yard run to put the game out of reach for good. Of course, none of this was possible if it wouldn’t have been for the first play of the game. With wisdom of all the sages of the world combined and the courage of a lion tamer, THE Matt Murphy successful won the coin toss to make all of that possible. Great job gentlemen!

  • The SHS boys golf team earned a strong victory last night over SHG, Jacksonville, and Lincoln. Leading the way for the Senators was Charlie Merrit, firing a 1-under-par 35. Carter Beck followed with a solid 38, while Luke Millimanposted a 40 and Trevor Hoffman added a 41.

Best of luck to the Senators as they head into Regionals on Wednesday!
